I'm Ned Mayhem, a queer cis male pervert scientist in Oakland.  I started writing this software in 2011 so that my partner Maggie Mayhem and I could launch our own paysite, MeetTheMayhems.com. We were creating a ton of hot content both together and separately, and we knew that by marketing our porn ourselves instead of relying on the studios we could increase our revenue, build our fan base, and start to subvert some of the standard offensive marketing rhetoric. Unfortunately all of the paysite software we found in our price range was depressingly limited, offering the kind of user experience I remember seeing ten years ago. Clips4sale, cam sites, and VOD streaming are very useful tools for porn performers going independent, but each type of site offers limited options and using them together makes it tough to build your personal brand name in one place. There are a few other somewhat innovative porn distribution tools which have been developed by large studios, but they have no intention of sharing. As the industry's market share is increasingly taken over by webcam interactions and homemade fetish clips, more and more performers are going to want the freedom to brand and market their own content. Fortunately, it is now 2012 and the internet has advanced to the point where the technological tools we are interested in are not difficult to create and use. We simply did it ourselves. The result is not perfect, but it is ours and we have the right to share it. We love porn. We love watching it, we love creating it, we love distributing it, and we are committed to fighting for our right to use it as a medium to express our sexual and artistic vision. We hope that the software we've created will allow as many of you as possible to do the same.
